Our first Every Body is a Beach Body event in 2021 was on Saturday 23rd January in Mooloolaba. Dark blue sky with dramatic clouds, bright shining sun, sand, rocks and the ocean plus 24 amazing women in all their glory promoting self-love and body confidence. There is no better way to spend a Saturday!
Here is how one of the participants describes the experience:
'I did a thing!
A thing that never in my wildest dreams did I think I would do.
But I, in all my curvy, plus-size glory, participated in a swimsuit photoshoot by the amazing Marina Meier from @nakedfacephotographyproject at beautiful Mooloolaba Beach in Queensland, Australia.
I felt like an absolute goddess and so did the 24 other women of all shapes and sizes as we celebrated the fact that "Every body is a beach body".
I watched in awe how shyness and self-consciousness were put aside. Curves and bumps, stretch-marks and cellulite were on display as self-love, confidence, kindness and community were embraced.
I couldn't help but think, what could be achieved if everyone felt safe to bring these qualities to every space that we find ourselves in. To fully be who we are, wherever we may be!
What ideas would be conceived? What productivity could be achieved? What problems could be solved? Who will we inspire? Who will we help to feel safe?...' - Andrea Westbrook
